NEELEY, Michael Patrick – of Davison, MI, age 78, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024. The family will receive visitors 1-6 PM Friday, May 24, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Cremation will take place following the visitation. Private inurnment, with Military Honors, at Great Lakes National Cemetery, 4200 Belford Road, Holly, MI 48442. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Cruisers Car Club, in Mike’s memory.
Mike was born in Flint, MI on November 1, 1945, son of the late Kenneth and Joan (Mullin) Neeley. He was a graduate of Central High School Class of 1964. Mike proudly served his country, during the Vietnam War, in the U.S. Marine Corps. from 1965 to 1967, embodying the Marine Corps values of honor, courage, and commitment. His service was a testament to his patriotism and his willingness to sacrifice for the greater good. Beyond his military service, Mike was a cornerstone of the community, co-founding the Michigan Cruisers Car Club. His expertise in crafting custom cars was unparalleled. From the bare frame to the finished masterpiece, Mike's skill and creativity shone through in every vehicle he built. His 1953 Chevy Bel Air, sponsored by Back to the Bricks in 2023, was a testament to his craftsmanship and dedication to the automotive world. Mike's commitment to his fellow veterans was unwavering. His name proudly graces the wall at the Museum for Veterans in Frankenmuth, MI, a tribute to his service and sacrifice. He was not only a veteran, but also a mentor and advocate for his comrades, embodying the spirit of camaraderie and service. Above all, Mike cherished the time spent with his family and friends. His warmth, humor, and generosity brought joy to all who knew him. Whether tinkering in the garage, sharing stories over a cup of coffee, or simply enjoying each other's company, Mike's presence illuminated the lives of those around him.
Mike is survived by his wife, Linda Neeley; 4 children, Joseph Thompson, Frank Neeley, Tammy Neeley Tower and William (Monica) Timmons; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; 5 siblings, Barbara Rose (Harry) Thompson, Loretta (Clinton) Stowers, Kenneth (Donna) Neeley, Charles (Laurie) Neeley and Sandy CoyKendall; 2 brothers-in-law, Bill Barclay and Walt Saxton; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Joan Neeley; 4 siblings, Joan Louise Auger, Deborah Barclay, Dorothy Saxton and Dwayne Neeley; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Niemczyk and brother-in-law, Donald CoyKendell.
