Janott, Robert “Bob” of Flushing, formerly of Warren, age 83, died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Rossell Funeral Home. Fr. Roy Horning will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral services. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A memorial service under the Knights of Columbus Council #8489 will be 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Knights of Columbus or the Salvation Army.
Robert was born in Detroit, Michigan on January 2, 1932, the son of Adolph and Katherine (Stiehl) Janott. He married Mary Piccirilli on September 28, 1957 in Grosse Pointe. Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Korean War. He was employed by Fisher Body for 28 years and retired as Senior Project Engineer at Design Staff. After his retirement from General Motors, Bob worked at Megatech Engineering for 10 years. He was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church where he served as an usher and was a member of the Men's Club and the Knights of Columbus Council #8489. Bob enjoyed golfing with his good buddies, traveling and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband and proud and loving father and grandfather.
Robert is survived by his wife of 57 years, Mary; children, Elisa and husband Dr. James Cantwil of Flushing, Marie Couris of Palatine, Illinois; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Matt) Baleja, Olivia Cantwil, Roselyn Cantwil and Vivienne Couris. |
