Rush, Albert R. – of Montrose, age 86, died Friday, May 29, 2020, at his residence. A graveside memorial service will take place at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, June 3, 2020, at the Montrose Township Cemetery. Don O’Guinn will officiate. Burial to follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montrose Fire Department.
Albert was born December 3, 1933, in Flushing, Michigan, to the late Richard and Iris (Reid) Rush. He graduated from Montrose High School in 1952. Al married Anna Hadley on March 21, 1953. She preceded him in death on March 19, 2014. He was employed at GM’s Fisher Body Division, retiring as a General Foreman in 1989 with 37 ½ years of service. He was also a 55 year member of the Montrose Township Fire Dept. where he served as Fire Chief for 20 years, retiring in 2008. Al was also a life member of the Montrose Masonic Lodge # 428 F&AM and the Montrose Eagles Aerie #4090. Al and his wife, Anna, were honored as Grand Marshals of the Montrose Blueberry Festival Parade in 2008. He also enjoyed hunting in his spare time. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: 3 children: Peggy (Al) Wilhelm of Montrose, Eric (Aimee) Rush of Montrose and Thomas (Roxanne) Rush of Saginaw; Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Brother, Denny (Judy) Rush of FL. The family would like to give a very special thanks to Billy and Terry Persails for their love and care of Al.
