Janet Sue Morrison, age 84, of Ithaca, MI, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2024, at Medilodge of Mt. Pleasant, Mt. Pleasant, MI.
Visitation will be held 2-8 P.M. on Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at Smith Family Funeral Homes Ithaca, MI. Janet will be buried along with her husband Eugene and son Larry at Elm Hall Cemetery, Elm Hall, MI at a later date.
Janet was born in Richland Township, Michigan on June 23, 1939, the daughter of Frederick Raymond and Marvel Ann (Bennett) Hofstetter. She
graduated from Alma High School in 1957. On June 22, 1957, Janet married Eugene Allen Morrison in Lake Odessa, Michigan. They were married fifty-eight years prior to his death on January 5, 2016.
Janet was an avid Country Music fan. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, baking, and having coffee with friends. She was a welder for the
Ashley Corporation. She later was a Special Education Teacher at Luce Road Elementary. She also was a housekeeper at Gratiot Community
Hospital.
Janet is survived by three children: Sue (Pat) Lane of Pompeii, Robert (Terri) Morrison of Ithaca, and Lesa Beard of Ithaca, seven grandchildren: Corey (Jenni) Lane, Traci (Chris) Seeley, Jamie (Kendra) Lane, Bryan
Morrison, Alison (Michael) Goldsmith, Chad Morrison, and David (Carrie Fox) Morrison; many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren,
along with many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Eugene, son Larry "Cool Joe", and five brothers: Raymond, Roderick, James, Terry, and Darrell.
Memorials may be made to Gratiot County Commission on Aging, or to the family to assist in Janet's final expenses. Online condolences may be
