McELHINEY, Reva J. “Wanga” - age 67, of Clio, passed away Sunday October 4, 2020 at her residence. Family will receive friends at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, on Thursday October 8, 2020 from 12-8 PM and Friday October 9, 2020 from 10-1 PM. At 1 PM we will then proceed to Cook Cemetery in Taymouth Twp., for a graveside service at 2 PM. Pastor Roger Gedcke will officiate. In lieu of flowers, Reva wished memorial contributions to be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children.
Reva was born April 14, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Duane and Norma (Brown) Hicks. She spent her early years in Birch Run and later moved to Clio. She graduated from Clio High School with the Class of 1971. Later that year she married the love of her life, Stephan R. McElhiney on June 26, at Bethany United Methodist Church in Clio. For several years, Reva and Steve owned and operated the Clio Bowling Arcade, which has been in her family for generations. She was a longtime member of the Eastern Stars. In her free time she enjoyed any type of crafting. Family and friends have received her creations whether it be crochet, cross stitch or scrapbooks. She loved baking so much, she was always known to be giving them out to family, friends and the community. Most important, she loved her family and the time she spent with them.
Surviving are: her husband of 49 years Stephan; 3 children; Cayle McElhiney of Clio, Kyle (Valorie) McElhiney of Grand Blanc and Ginger Colley of Clio; 5 grandchildren, Jessica Worden, Alyssa Lewis, Lilly Colley, Bella and Cailyn McElhiney; great grandson, Kai Tester; brother LD (Chris) Hicks; sister-in-law Teresa (Ron) Yancho; and many other extended family and friends.
