RAK, Derick Michael – of Parma, OH, formerly of Millington and Davison, MI, passed away at home Wednesday, June 10, 2015, at the age of 23. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Mr. Vernon Lawrence officiating. There will also be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Monday. A prayer service will be held 7 PM on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Derick leaves behind his beloved mother, Phyllis Henry (Donnie Coughlin); sister, Courtney Henry; brother, Mark Henry (Julia Quinn); grandparents, Fred and Sylvia Henry; father, Michael Rak (Tonya); sister, Annalisa King; brother, Joseph Mier; grandfather, William Rak; many aunts, uncles and cousins; best friends, Casey Strathman, Mary Premo and many more; his beloved dogs, Lobo and Moz.
Derick loved spending time with his family, friends and dogs. He enjoyed always helping others, playing video games with Casey, playing paintball, collecting swords, knives and guns. Derick always had his bug out bag ready. He enjoyed carving, and whittling, reading, and board games. He enjoyed making things out of paracord and was a wiz on the computer. Derick loved learning new information. He enjoyed philosophic debates. Derick was always up for a challenge of people’s opinions on any subject. He enjoyed watching cartoons. Derick had a big heart. He was in the Army and always enjoyed anything to do with the Military. Derick was enjoying his job in homeland security in Cleveland ports. Derick was an organ donor and will be missed dearly.
Derick was preceded in death by his grandmother, Donella Rak.
