MEINBURG, George Walter - Of Burton, age 73, died Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 11am Friday, June 17, 2016 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 706 West Flint Street, Davison,
Pastor Todd Frusti officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Davison, MI.
Visitation 2-4pm and 6-8pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Friday at church until the time of the service.
George was born in Gladwin, Michigan on December 16, 1942, the son of the late George Richard and Erna Meinburg and stepson of the late Bill Basner. He was a resident of Burton most of his life. On October 13, 1962, he married Carol Eckler. George was a former member of Redeemer Lutheran Church and a member of Trinity Lutheran Church of Davison. He was an avid outdoorsman and he loved flea markets. George was employed at Grand Blanc Fisher Body for 31 years.
Surviving are wife, Carol;
sons, George R. (Lisa), Greg (Wendy), Brent (Tanya);
grandchildren, Lauren, Aaron, Ben, Rachel, Allysa, Hunter, Gatlin, Porter and Carson;
sister, Beverly (Roger) Pirtle;
God-children, Darlene, Christian, Terry and Brandon;
several nieces and nephews;
and lifelong friends, Bonnie Jackson and Barbara Seymour.
