EICKHOFF, Devaun G. “Ike”– of Millington, age 89, passed away, Sunday, April 21, 2019 at the Oaks at Woodfield in Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held 11AM, Thursday, April 25, 2019 at St. Martin Lutheran Church, 10995 Canada Road, Birch Run. Pastor Jim Chinnery officiating. Burial to follow in Newton Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Wednesday from 4PM until 8PM and on Thursday at the church from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Martins Lutheran Church.

Ike was born March 20, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to the late Ginter and Fleeta (Richardson) Eickhoff. He graduated from Grand Blanc High School in 1948. Ike married Elizabeth “Betty” Jane O’Hearn on January 15, 1949. He retired from General Motors in 1988 with 38 years of seniority and was a member of UAW Local #599. Ike and Betty purchased 20 acres in Millington and have lived there for 50 years. He enjoyed golfing, playing horseshoes, and gardening. Ike also enjoyed his horses, which he owned for many years. In his earlier years, Ike and Betty liked to travel and spent their winters in Florida. In his later years, he enjoyed meeting weekly with a group of friends to play cards and take walks. Most of all, he loved spending time with his wife and family.

Surviving are: Wife of 70 years, Elizabeth “Betty” Eickhoff; Children: Pamela Woodbury of Birch Run, Mark (Beverly) Eickhoff of Goodrich, Tyrus (Terri) Eickhoff of Grand Blanc, and Lori (Ricky) Reinert of Millington; Grandchildren: Angela Handy, Jeffrey Woodbury, Aaron Woodbury, Chad Eickhoff, Ty Eickhoff, Michael Smith, Danielle Paul, Dan Eickhoff, Aaron Eickhoff, Jason Stewart, Matthew Stewart, and Eric Stewart; 31 great grandchildren; Brothers: Larry (Patricia) Eickhoff and Duane (Kay) Eickhoff. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Clifford Eickhoff and son-in-law, Leroy Woodbury. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the staff at McLaren Hospital and the Oaks at Woodfield for their compassionate care of Ike during his final days.
