Bruff, Denny “Lee” of Flushing, age 69, left us in peace at his home, after a short battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by his family and beloved dogs on October 31, 2024. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2024, at Rossell Funeral Home. There will be a gathering of family and friends 2-8 p.m. Tuesday and 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home until the time of the service at 11 a.m.
Denny was born on April 15, 1955, the son of Robert and Maxine Bruff, and twin to Danny Joe. For the early part of adulthood, Lee married Cheryl Ricksgers and had two wonderful children, Robert (Casey) Bruff and Tamara (Todd) Walker. He later married his loving wife and best friend, Jill Ruitta, who survives him. With this marriage, Lee gained two more children, Elyse (Jacob) Vinson and Thomas (Dallas Moon) Woolhiser. Lee loved his family, but adored his grandchildren, Wyatt and Ellie Bruff, Cole, Caden and Chloe Walker, Opal Vinson, and Oliver and Elliot Woolhiser.
Lee was a friend to many and truly enjoyed life. He will be remembered for a solidly mediocre golf game, good sense of humor, lying when Jill out fished him, buying the losing lottery tickets, and just being a generally good guy.
A special thank you to A & D Hospice, the “Big Mike” Thill, Jana Ruitta, Elyse Vinson for their spectacular care and help in his transition to peace. Also, a special thank you to Jill and Elyse’s work family in ICU, 2 S, 2 S tele and rehab at Henry Ford Genesys.
