McCLENATHAN, Melvin Gerald - Of Burton, age 74, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, April 14, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Michael Cheng officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service. Inurnment at Great Lakes National Cemetery at a later date.
Those desiring may make contributions to the National Kidney Foundation of Michigan Inc.
Visitation 3:30p.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Melvin was born in Flint, Michigan on August 16, 1943, the son of Melvin and Ellen McClenathan.
He served his country in the Marine Corps for four years.
Melvin had been married to Barbara for 49 years.
He enjoyed fishing and hunting and had a passion for woodworking. He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Mr. McClenathan was employed by General Motors as a Press Operator for 30 years.
Surviving are wife, Barbara;
daughter, Wendy (Todd) Strong;
granddaughters, Emily and Brooke.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Sheila; brother, David and beloved pug, Ernie.
