JAMISON, Mr. George "Bobby"-age 62, of Flint, passed away Friday, August 4,
2017 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, August 12, 2017 with a 10:00 am
family hour at Southeast Christian Church of the Apostolic Faith 4171 Lapeer Rd.,
Burton, MI 48509.

The final resting place for Mr. Jamison will be River Rest Cemetery, Flint, MI.
Calling hours are 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday, August 11, 2017 at Sheldon T. Banks
Funeral Chapel 3021 S. Dort Hwy., Flint, MI 48507.
George Curtis Jamison was the ninth of ten children born to the late K.D. &
Lucinda (Brown) Jamison Sr. born in Flint, MI July 5, 1955, George graduated
from Northwestern High School "Class of 1973." George continued his education,
graduating from the University of Michigan -Flint, with Bachelor of Arts Degree
in 1979; Wayne State University with a Masters in Library Science in 1995;
Community Leadership Program in 2002. George retired from the Genesee District
Library with over 27 years of service with the position of Senior Librarian at the
Davison Branch.
George had a brain aneurysm in the ninth grade and as a result of being healed he
decided to serve the Lord. George was an active member of Antioch Missionary
Baptist Church, serving on the Hospitality Committee, the Usher Board and Served
as Security in Ministry. He sang in various choirs, was a Sunday School Teacher
and assisted with their food giveaway. George was a Big Brother with the Big
Brothers and Big Sisters. George was President of the Friends of the Genesee
Valley Library and served on the Genesee District Library Foundation Board.
George enjoyed sketching, painting, traveling, listening to music, walking, having
a good time and sharing with others his sick sense humor.
George leaves to cherish his memories: brother, Earl (Roberta) Jamison; sisters,
Rosemary Keahey, Elizabeth & Clara Jamison all of Flint, MI, Anita Robinson of
Westland, MI; sister-in-law, Johnnie Jamison of Bolton, MS, uncles, Ezell Poats of
Gary, IN, C.D (Bernice) Jamison, Joseph, Bernard, Leonard (Ruth Mae) Brown all
of Bolton, MS; aunts, Mrs. Lessie B. Jackson, Mrs. Alice P. Hill and Mrs. Mazie
King all of MS, Mrs. Cecilia (Robert) Lanier of TN, Mrs. Mary Lee Smith of FL,
Mrs. Frances (George) Bernard of Gary, IN, and Mrs. Rachel Brown of Flint, MI;
numerous nephews and nieces including niece Cachandra Jamison of Flint, MI,
cousins other relatives and friends including Maelene Burnom, Georgia Font,
Shirley E. Jackson, Carmel Robinson Fee, Ruth Lott and Elder J. W. Callahan
George was preceded in death by his parents K.D. & Lucinda Jamison; sisters,
Betty Hopkins and Mary Lucille Moore; brothers, K.D. Jamison Jr. & James
Jamison; brothers in-law, Alfred Hopkins and Roy Clayton Sr.; nephews, Alfred
Hopkins Jr., Derrick Jamison, Shequille Jamison; nieces, Doris Linda Robinson &
Erika Jamison, John A. Brown Sr. and George Brown Sr., numerous aunts, uncles
and cousins.
