Sanders, Lorraine Victoria, age 92, of Flushing Michigan, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 9, 2024. Born in 1932, Lorraine lived through some of the world's most significant events. She is the daughter of Anna and Michael Kogut, and grew up in Mt. Carmel, Pennsylvania, where she lived until her late teen years, when the family moved to Hillman, Michigan. Hillman is where she met her husband, Jack N. Sanders and they married February 1, 1952, eventually moving to Flushing, where soon after she had four children and thrived as a stay-at-home mother. Lorraine was an excellent cook, baker and enjoyed gardening.
Lorraine is survived by her four children; Roseanna Harmon of Flushing, Theresa & Alan Smith of Woodstock, Ga, Jack and Kelly Sanders of Flushing, and Jim and Heidi Sanders of Clay, NY. Additionally, she is survived by 9 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and her sister, Anastasia Konkel of Jackson Michigan, along with several nieces and nephews.
There will be a private family memorial service to be announced at a later date. |
