DUNN, Mildred Dorothy “Millie” (Zarnke) - Of Swartz Creek formerly of Pigeon, MI, age 89, died Friday, February 8, 2019 at her residence.
Visitation 3-8pm Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2 pm Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at St. Francis Borgia Catholic Church, 25 Moeller Street, Pigeon, MI
Mrs. Dunn will be at church 1 pm Wednesday until the time of the Mass.
Father Robert Pare’ officiating.
Burial in Riverside Cemetery in Elkton, Michigan.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Millie was born in Sebewaing, Michigan on April 12, 1929, the daughter of the late Erwin and Eleanora (Armbruster) Zarnke. On July 1, 1950, she married Duane James Dunn and he preceded her in death on December 30, 2002. Millie and Duane met in Elkton, married and moved to Flint to raise their family. Millie worked for Carman-Ainsworth School District as a teacher’s aide for several years. After retirement, Duane and Millie moved back to Elkton and lived in Pigeon before returning to the Flint area.
Surviving are children, Marilyn Campbell, James (Diana) Dunn, Beth (Rob) Covers and Tim Dunn and fiancée, Nicole Cassavoy;
grandchildren, Jason Campbell, Sara (Josh) Drown, Carrie (Dave) Chard, Becky (Eric) Anderson, Alex Covers and fiancée Emily Sears, Andre Covers and girlfriend, Ashten Hnilica and Conner Cassavoy;
six great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews;
and special friend, Joe Burzynski.
She was preceded in death by siblings, Marilyn Fritz, Vernon Zarnke and Janet Zarnke.
The family would like to thank Courtyard Manor of Swartz Creek staff and the Care Team Hospice staff for their loving care of Millie.
