YAMBRICK, William (Bill) Alexander – age 74, of Durand, died Tuesday, October 28, 2014 at his home. A Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Friday, November 21, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial of cremains will be in Davison Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be 12-1 PM Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice.
Bill was born on April 29, 1940 in Flint; he was the son of Joseph and Leona (Mikuta) Yambrick. He was a graduate of Holy Redeemer and a skilled tradesman at Chevrolet Metal Fab retiring after 43 years of service. Bill proudly served his country in the U. S. Army from 1963-1965. He raised his family in Grand Blanc, was remarried in 1988 to Karen Alacheff and spent his remaining years enjoying small-town living in Durand. Bill was a very humble man of great character and integrity. He took pride in everything he did and taught his children self-reliance and the value of integrity. His sense of humor and his love for telling jokes was infectious. He was an exceptional grandfather, who made every moment count.
Surviving are: wife, Karen Yambrick of Durand; three children, Michelle (Sterling) Dye of Flint, Lisa (Michael) Barnett of Linden and Anthony (Shelley) Yambrick of Grand Blanc; 4 step children, Kimberly Alacheff of KY, Aaron (Sue) Alacheff of MN, Dan (Dawn) Alacheff of Lennon, Melissa (Mark) Hillery of London, UK; grandchildren, Ally, Chelsea, Sarah & Anthony Barnett, and Arei Yambrick. Surviving step-grandchildren are Matthew and Therese Alacheff, Krista Scheitler, Pamela Alacheff and Isabella Hillery; great-grandchild, Kayden. He is also survived by his siblings: Antionette Sanborn, Paul Yambrick, Art Yambrick, Eleanor Dugan, Gregory Yambrick, Patrick Yambrick, Joanne Feetham, Mary Yambrick, Margie McLachlan, and Michael Yambrick and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Leona Yambrick; brother, Joseph Yambrick; his grandson, George Dunlap, Jr.
