SHIRLEY, Ronald Ray – of Davison, age 80, passed away January 29, 2015 at Stonegate Health Campus. A Memorial Service will be held 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 3, 2015 at Trinity United Presbyterian Church, 5151 Lennon Rd., Flint; Pastor Desiree Lawson officiating. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Monday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison . There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Tuesday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the Trinity United Presbyterian Church.
Ron was born in Flint, MI on August 7, 1934, son of the late Arthur and Arlene (Boutell) Shirley. He married Alice Riker on October 1, 1955 at Community Presbyterian Church in Flint. Ron was an active member and Elder of Trinity United Presbyterian Church. He was a proud City Council member of Auburn Hills, MI for 15 years and a member of the Optimist Club of Auburn Hills. Ron loved golf, fishing, painting, collecting miniature trains, but most of all his family.
Ron is survived by his wife of 59 years, Alice; daughter, Stacie (Darrell) Moye, grandchildren, Ava and Brodie Moye; niece, Valerie Tendall; nephew, Dan (Sheri) Plyler. He was preceded in death by sister, Kathryn L. Halverson. The family would like to say a special thank you to brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Carol Kinder; wonderful friends, Jerry and Sharon Auger; niece and nephew, Tom and Denita Riker and our loving church family.
