Massoud "Mike" Karbassi
Age 80 of Durand passed away Wednesday May 29, 2024.
Funeral services will be held at 12pm Wednesday, June 5 2024 at Nelson House Funeral Home. Pastor Marlene Webster will be officiating. Burial will follow in Marion Springs. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home Tuesday from 12-8 pm and Wednesday morning from 10am-12pm.
Massoud was born May 20, 1944 in Iran, son of Mahmood Karbassi and Monier-Sadaht (Keshmire) Karbassi.
He graduated from Pahlavi Highschool in Kermanshah Iran and attended CMU. He obtained a bachelor's of science degree and masters of art degree in 1976. He worked at a pizzeria and later owned a water softener company in Florida .
Massoud enjoyed soccer and volleyball and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed helping his elderly neighbors with yard work.
Massoud is survived by his son Hassan Karbassi, daughter in law Julie Karbassi, Daughter Alicia Smith, grandchildren Brendon, Connor, and Kenedy McKeon, Jaedyn and Caleb Karbassi, and his longtime companion and best friend Grace Grant, siblings Mahmonier, Mahry, Mahvash, Minoo, Nafise and Nasar and several other family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father Mahmood Karbassi and mother Monier-Sadaht Karbassi, Karen Karbassi whom he shared his two children with and was previously married. |
