Robert Charles DuBarns
Age 69 of Owosso passed away peacefully Saturday, July 14, 2018 at the Hospice House of Shiawassee County.
Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at Nelson-House Funeral Home, Owosso 7pm Friday July 20, 2018 with Military Honors to follow, Pastor Marlene Webster will be officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2pm till 7pm.
Robert was born February 12, 1949 in Lansing, the son of Robert L. and Beverly J. (Cole) DuBarns.
He proudly served in the United States Navy. Robert was a member of the Church of Christ, Corunna V.F.W. and he was a 4-H Leader. Robert was an avid U of M fan and especially enjoyed football and basketball.
He married Sandra Ann Franks in Owosso on November 30, 1991.
Robert spent many years driving truck, worked at Wausaukee Composites, was a maintenance man at Leisure Lake and worked for Teach-Out Security as a security guard at the Genesee County School Administration Building . He also volunteered as a first responder for Owosso Township Rescue for several years.
He is survived by his wife Sandra; children Christopher DuBarns and Kelly DuBarns; 6 grandchildren: Elijah, Isaac, Alyssa, Mason, Jada & Dwight Jr; all of Florida, sister Debra DuBarns of Shelby Twp, MI, brother Jon DuBarns & domestic partner, Mark Infante of Cleveland, OH; brother-in-law & sister-in-law, Carl & Janice Oakley of Grand Ledge, aunt Mary Dorsey of Florida, several other loving family members and friends.
Robert was predeceased by his parents.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Hospice House, American Cancer Society & Shiawassee 4-H Horse Department.
