PALMER, Dale M. - of Burton, age 77, died Tuesday, January 16, 2018 in Naperville, IL at his daughter’s residence.
Visitation 11am Saturday, January 20, 2018 until the time of the service at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint which will be held 1pm at the funeral home.
Pastor Carl Cooke officiating.
Additional visitation 10am-2pm Sunday, January 21, 2018 at the funeral home.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Contributions may be made to the Burton Fire Department or a charity of one’s choice.
Dale was born in Traverse City, Michigan on April 3, 1940, the son of the late Charles and Vila (Brimmer) Palmer. Dale served his country in the United States Navy. He retired from General Motors and was also a Volunteer Firefighter for 20 years in Genesee County. Dale was an avid outdoorsman, loved spending quality time with his family and was known as being mischievous.
Surviving are children, Cindy and husband Greg Miller, Dean and wife Anna Palmer, Richard and wife Heidi Palmer, Rodney and wife Debra Palmer, Cheryl and husband Michael Seirmarco, Edythe and husband Scott Cusson and Robert and wife Dedra Palmer;
many grandchildren and great-grandchildren;
brothers, Raymond and wife Mary Lou Palmer, Richard and wife Marion Palmer and Douglas and wife Rosa Palmer;
sister, Coralie Christiansen;
numerous nieces and nephews;
former wife and friend Kathy Palmer and her son, Troy and wife Tracy O’Neill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Christina Palmer, son Levi Palmer, grandson Little Levi, brothers, Charles, Niles and Clyde Palmer, sisters, Betty Cromwell, Esther Keel and Amarallys “Mickie” Miller.
