Arvoy, Walter Michael - Age 83 of Swartz Creek, died October 12, 2017. Services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, October 16 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Rd, Swartz Creek. Visitation will be held 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM Saturday, October 14, 2017 1:00 PM -4:30 PM and 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM Sunday October 15, 2017. Those desiring may make contributions to the Swartz Creek Fine Arts. Walter was born in Durand, Michigan on May 19, 1934 to Joseph and Mary (Drenovsky) Arvoy. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. He was employed at GM Truck and Bus retiring in 1991. He lived in the Swartz Creek area since the 1960's. He married Carol Maul on April 7, 1967 and she preceded him in death on December 9, 2011. Mr. Arvoy enjoyed bowling and classic cars. He loved to work outdoors and gardening. He was an avid mall walker. He was a member of the Swartz Creek Fine Arts Association as well as the VCCA Car Club. Surviving are his children, Vickie Mc Knight of Falmouth, Michelle (Thomas) Carn of Ann Arbor; grandchildren, Michael Pertler of Falmouth and Noah and Sabina of Ann Arbor; great grandchildren, Anneliese Pertler, Maleigha McKnight, Claura Kilpatrick, Logan McKnight; brothers, Floyd, John (Pat) Arvoy; sister, Helen Arvoy. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers; Tom, Bob, Joe, Ed and son-in-law Jim McKnight. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
