Bernard Joe Bullion, age 72, lifetime Lapeer area resident, died Monday October 3, 2011. Mr. Bullion was born May 5, 1939 in Norton, Virginia to Needham and Mae (Sawyer) Bullion. He married Carrie Smith on July 11, 1959. Mr. Bullion worked over 25 years in patient care at Oakdale Center in Lapeer. He was very active in the Lapeer Odd Fellows, where he volunteered for Bingo, was Santa's Helper for local children and received the Odd Fellow of the year award. Mr. Bullion received the highest award given annually by the Lapeer Masonic Lodge, the Guest Award. Joe enjoyed the Flaming-7's slot machines, watching his birds and watching Detroit Lions Football. He is survived by loving wife: Carrie Bullion of Lapeer; children: Dorothey (Bryant) Heit of Montrose, Tim Bullion of Lapeer, Lisa (Tom) Bierbusse of Lapeer, Carolyn (Trevor) Botkins of Lapeer and Reshanda (Denny) Terry of Grand Blanc; 10 Grandchildren; 12 Great-Grandchildren; brothers; Gerald (Annie) Bullion of Virginia and Roger Bullion of Virginia; also many nieces and nephews. Mr. Bullion was preceded in death by his son: Billy Joe Bullion and parents: Needham and Mae Bullion. Memorial contributions may be made to Suncrest Auxiliary. Visitation will be 5-8 PM Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at Muir Brothers Funeral Home in Lapeer. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM Thursday October 6, 2011 at the funeral home, with burial in Stiles Cemetery, Lapeer. |
