Betty J. Moss Valentine, of
Grand Blanc, Michigan passed away on September 21, 2020. She was born on May 6, 1924 in Flint, Michigan to parents Burt and Alice (nee Kaufmann) Moss. Betty graduated from Flint Central in 1942, and from General Motors Institute. She was employed at A.C Personal Department as a Senior Comp Operator. Betty married her high school sweetheart, James Valentine, in 1946. Betty was licensed in Real Estate for 25 years. She was a member of Board of Realtors, past president of Oakley Traynor American Legion Auxiliary, a member of Flint International Institute and Flint Sorosis Club. Betty and James spent many summers at their home in Ludington on Lake Michigan. Betty displayed her driftwood creations at Left Bank Gallery in Flint and other art shows. Betty enjoyed life to the fullest and cherished her two daughters, Bonita and Patricia. The loves of her life were her five grandsons, and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James; daughter, Bonita; siblings, Ethel McLane, and Russel Moss. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Mahoney-Valentine; son-in-law Michael Mahoney; grandsons: Scott Maeder of Davison, MI, Bradley (Jillian) Maeder of Knoxville, TN, Todd (Pam) Mahoney of Howell, MI, Timothy (Leah) Mahoney of Grand Blanc, MI, and Curt (Shannen) Mahoney of West Bloomfield, MI; great-grandchildren: Morgan Mahoney, Gavin Mahoney, Emmeline Maeder, Alexander Maeder, Ethan Mahoney, Violet Mahoney, Iris Mahoney, and Braun Mahoney; nephews: Perry, Jerry, Bob, Rich; niece Lynn; and dear friend Bernard. The family will greet friends for a memorial visitation from 3:00pm until time of outdoor memorial service at 4:00pm on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Brown Funeral Home, 1480 E. Hill Rd., Grand Blanc, MI. Inurnment at Flint Memorial Park at a later date. In accordance with state and local mandates, facial coverings and social distancing regulations are enforced inside and outdoors at the funeral home. The family is deeply appreciative of guests following the mandates. |
