HUSTON, Rosemary (Huston) - Age 90, of Fenton, died peacefully in her sleep Friday, December 22, 2017 at His Caring Arms Assisted Living and after 36 years will finally join her beloved husband Joseph in Heaven. She had a strong faith that carried her through each day until the very end. Please join her family to pay tribute to and celebrate the amazing woman she was. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Thursday, December 28 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 600 N. Adelaide Street, Fenton. Graveside service at Oakwood Cemetery, Fenton. Visitation will be held 4-7 PM Wednesday at Sharp Funeral Homes, Fenton Chapel, 1000 Silver Lake Road, Fenton where a rosary will be held at 7 PM; and 10-11 AM Thursday at the church. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Father Harvey Legacy Society or St. John Restoration Fund.
Rosemary was born February 16, 1927 in Columbus, Ohio to Emil Peter and Ruth Butler. Rosemary lived in the Columbus area until she and her husband Joseph moved the family to Fenton, Michigan in 1967.
She graduated from Mt. Carmel Hospital Nursing School in 1950. Rosemary spent much of her professional life as a registered nurse working at Fenton Extended Care and Crestmont Nursing Home. She was also a Hospice volunteer for many years; she was happiest when she was serving others. Rosemary was a devout Catholic and member of St John’s Church, Fenton for fifty years.
Rosemary is survived by her large, loving family including: daughters, Priscilla Huston of Colorado, Christina Bruce and husband Randy Baum of California, Melinda McGraw and husband Jeff of Hubbard Lake, MI, Celia Emerton and husband Ken of Linden, Sue Seguin and husband Todd of Traverse City, and Juli Rough and husband Bill of Bloomfield Hills; as well as her son, John Huston and wife Laura of Fenton. She will be deeply missed by her 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 2 surviving sisters, her brother and many friends. She was particularly close to her sisters: Madeline Hicks, Dorothy Hughes, Donna Braskett (deceased) as well as her brother John Butler who still reside in the Columbus area.
