LAUCKNER, James T. “Little Bo”- Of Grand Blanc, age 71, attended his first Easter celebration in Heaven on Sunday, March 27, 2016, with his beloved wife by his side.

Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, 12534 S. Holly Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Family will gather at 11:00 a.m. for reception, Pastors Todd Biermann and Jonathan Moyer officiating.

Following the Celebration of Life a military service will be conducted under the auspices of Chevrolet Motor Post #3087 Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Faith Lutheran Church Memorial Garden, Mecosta County Chapter of Habitat for Humanity or Humane Society of Genesee County.

Jimmy was born in Flint on August 1, 1944, to Ted and Katie Lauckner.

He was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church- and a graduate from Flint Southwestern Academy in 1962. After he graduated from high school he attended Ferris State University, and enlisted in the United States Air Force. He served our country as a Sergeant in the Strategic Air Command at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, Nebraska. After discharge, he returned home to work for General Motors in multiple capacities for 37 years, retiring from Service Parts Operations.

He married Edie Mueller on August 14, 1971 and remained married for 38 years.

Friends and family remember Jimmy as spirited, loving and passionate. He enjoyed fall Saturday’s at Michigan Stadium, and was a season ticket holder of Michigan Football for 38 years. He also served as a thespian in Flint Community Players, an Elder in the Lutheran Church, and a special friend within the “Survivor Squad” at Faith Lutheran.

He will be loved always as a dear father, “papa,” friend and Wolverine faithful from Schembechler to Harbaugh.

Surviving are two sons, Drew Lauckner, of Saginaw, Texas,
Matt (Tanya) Lauckner of Canadian Lakes, Michigan;

granddaughters, Ella and Layla Tucci;

two sisters, Patti (Bill) Hammond of Rochester Hills, Michigan, Barb (Don) Mourand of Negaunee, Michigan;

many nieces, nephews and friends alike.

Jimmy is preceded in death by beloved wife, Edie Lauckner (2010) and beloved dog, Ginger (2016).
