O’ROURKE, DENNIS M. – of Grand Blanc, age 78, passed away July 11, 2015 at his residence, surrounded by loved ones. Visitation will be held Wednesday, July 15 from 1:00-4:00PM and 6:00-9:00PM at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc with a Rosary being prayed at 7PM. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:00AM Thursday, July 16 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11804 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Fr. Gary Koenigsknecht celebrant. Visitation will also be 10:00AM Thursday until time of Mass at church. Dennis was born January 31, 1937 in Flint to parents H. Patrick and Agnes (Knopic) O’Rourke. Dennis graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic High School in Flint in 1955. He then went on to graduate from GMI (Kettering) as a mechanical engineer. He was employed by GM the majority of his life, retiring in 1991 as Superintendent of Manufacturing at the Flint Metal Center. Dennis loved Notre Dame Football, politics, golf, & was very proud of his Irish heritage. He is survived by wife, Shirley; sister, Maureen (Peter) Capello, brothers, Tim (Katherine, recently deceased) O’Rourke, Patrick (Catherine) O’Rourke; children, Trish Marie (Ron Hardenburg), Katherine (Tim) Fick, Michael (Shelly) O’Rourke, Kimberly O’Rourke (Jeff Takeuchi), Melisa Redmond, Christine (Hank) Warner; 10 grandchildren and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and spouse, Christine (Witte) O’Rourke. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Reverence Hospice and aide, Angela Hill.
