Passed away Saturday morning, June 14, 2014 at Covenant Harrison in Saginaw. Age 81 years. She was born on August 12, 1932 in Merrill to the late Ernest F. and Mildred R. (Gross) Siler. She married Charles Bernard Baker on October 5, 1957. He preceded her in death July 18, 1997.
Marilyn was a member of St. Michael Catholic Church in Maple Grove, where she taught CCD, was very involved in the SPRED program and was also long time member of the D of I. She was an active band booster, a 4H leader and a township election volunteer. She enjoyed needle work crafts and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
Marilyn was a loving mother and homemaker to her eight children and her kindness touched the hearts of many others.
She is survived by her children: Nancy Baker of Remus, Kathryn MacGown of Montrose, James (Janet) Baker of Sanford, Timothy (Valerie) Baker of Montrose, Eugene (Joy) Baker of Flushing, Thomas Baker of Lennon, Mary (James) Jensen of Waterford, Gregory (Angela) Baker of Chesaning, nineteen grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and brothers and sisters, Carol (Frank) Carlson, Elaine Riley, Bernard (Mary) Siler, Jane Streng and Lynn (Fran) Siler.
Besides her husband, Charles, she was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Charles Alexander Baker and brother in-law, Ron Streng.
Funeral liturgy will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 17, 2014 at St. Michael Catholic Church, Maple Grove. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home in Chesaning on Monday, June 16, 2014 from 12:00-8:00 p.m. with a scripture service at 7:00 p.m. and K of C Rosary at 8:00 p.m. You may also visit at the Church on Tuesday after 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
Memorials can be made to St. Michael SPRED Program.
