CARTER, Beric Douglass – of Clio, age 78, died Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Saginaw VA Facility. Funeral services will be held at 6 PM Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation to follow with inurnment at the Great Lakes National Cemetery with military honors at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 12 Noon until time of services at 6 PM. Contributions may be made to Clio Senior Center.
Mr. Beric Carter was born in Detroit on March 1, 1937 to the late Beric and Esther Carter. Answering the call of his country, Beric served in the US Air Force retiring with 20 years service. He enjoyed country music and singing Karaoke with his friends at the Clio Senior Apartments where he lived.
Surviving are: Sons: Rodney (Angelina) Carter, Marc (Kathryn) Carter; Grandchildren: Rachel, Amelia, Dakota, Hudson, Kaitlin, Brian, Cheyenne; several cousins especially Joann and Mark Allen. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Aletta, and infant son, Beric Carter. The family extends a special thank you to a dear friend and caregiver, Najo Thomas for his devoted care.
