VEDRODY, Joseph Peter - Of Flint, age 96, entered into Eternal Life peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Friday, June 2, 2017 at Abbey Park Senior Living.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint,

Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church Educational Trust Fund.
Visitation 4-7pm Monday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Scripture Service will be held 5:30pm Monday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass.
Joseph was born in Cleveland, Ohio on February 15, 1921, the son of Steven and Mary (Jalsovsky) Vedrody, and was a resident of the Flint area since 1946. He married Catherine “Kay” Gardella on February 13, 1954 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church in Detroit and she preceded him in death on September 17, 2014. Joseph served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was a 1951 graduate of General Motors Institute. Joseph was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Flint Travel Club. Mr. Vedrody was employed by General Motors Fisher Body Plants 1 and 2 for 40 years, retiring in 1986.
Surviving are 4 Children, Joan (Curtis) Cremeans, Lois (Dr. Andrew) Stadnyk, Joseph A. (Kathy) Vedrody, and Michael Vedrody;
10 Grandchildren, Rita (Chris) Monroe, Colette (Joseph) Klein, Cara and Michael Cremeans, Jacob (fiancee’ Meghan) Stadnyk, Leah (Chad) Pearson, Rachel (Jamie) Risebrough, Vanessa Stadnyk, Andrea and Jessica Vedrody;
4 great-grandchildren, Michael, Andrew, Jack Pearson and Alexa Risebrough;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Steve, John and Louis; and 2 sisters, Mary Basco and Julia Vedrody.
