CRANE, Melva Jean (Ketchabaw) – of Davison, MI, formerly of West Branch, MI, age 85, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018. A Funeral Service will be held 4 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-4 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Make-a-Wish Foundation or Disabled American Veterans, in Jean’s name.
Jean was born in Flint, MI on June 29, 1933, daughter of the late Henry and Melva (Sands) Ketchabaw. She married Charles Crane on November 28, 1958 in Imlay City, MI and he preceded her in death on September 12, 2008. Jean was a volunteer and first responder for Wildwood Fire Department in Alger, MI. She believed in her Lord and was a member of Secord Baptist Church in Gladwin, MI. Jean was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be deeply missed.
Jean is survived by 3 daughters, Denise (Rodney) June, Debbie (Sonia) Crane and Deloris Ketchmark; 4 grandchildren, Tami (Greg) Griggs, Kevin (Amanda) Courneya, David Ketchmark and Courtney Ketchmark; 5 great-grandchildren, Nicole and Lauren Griggs, Austin, Alana and Xander Courneya; sister, Donna Lewis; many other loving family members and friends.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the nurses and staff of Lakeview Manor in Tawas City, MI and Compassus Hospice for their loving and compassionate care of Jean.
