KINCAID, Herbert W. - Of Grand Blanc, age 81, died Tuesday, March 22, 2016 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Court Street United Methodist Church, 225 West Court Street, Flint,
Reverend Jeremy Peters officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may direct memorial contributions to Court Street United Methodist Church.
Visitation 1-4pm and 6-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Saturday at church until the time of the service.
Herb was born on May 17, 1934 in County Meath, Ireland, to the late John and Violet Kincaid. He married Marion Dutro on June 19, 1954 and has been devoted to her for the past 61 years. Herb graduated from Flint Technical High School and furthered his education at GM Institute in Flint and Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee, WI, where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. He served in the United States Army, stationed in Germany in 1957 and 1958. He was employed at AC Spark Plug. He worked as a tool and die maker, later as a manager and was there 45 years retiring in 1997. Herb loved his Irish heritage and returned to visit relatives in Ireland numerous times. Herb also loved Flint Tech High School and his classmates. He and Marion were responsible for class reunions for the past 25 years and he was proud of the fact that there was a reunion every five years. Herb loved reading, church and community activities and people in general. He also enjoyed travel, having visited all seven continents and over 85 countries.
He is survived by wife, Marion;
daughter, Terri (Mike) Crnkovich;
sons, Kevin (Diane) Kincaid and Ken (Luly) Kincaid;
grandchildren, Courtney, Jeremy, Gregory, Melanie;
sister Joyce (Conrad) Niegarth; brother-in-law, Robert (Lynn) Dutro;
and many nieces and nephews.
