Age 84 of Owosso passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Memorial Healthcare Center.
A mass of Christian Burial will be held 11am Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Dave Fisher officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 8pm with a rosary prayed at 6pm.
Jerry was born January 6, 1930 in Detroit, the son of Anthony and Antoinette (Marek) Zemcik.
He attended Owosso High School and served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1953 to 1955.
Jerry married Helen A. Barta at St. Joseph Catholic Church on September 13, 1958.
He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, American Legion 40 & 8 and the Knights of Columbus.
Jerry was always willing to lend a helping hand and enjoyed listening and dancing to polka music, trips and traveling with family and friends and morning coffee with the guys. He looked forward to spending time with his family; especially get-togethers and his grandchildren’s many activities.
He had been employed through the years at Midland Ross, Oldsmobile in Lansing and Saginaw Steering Gear.
Jerry is survived by his wife Helen; sons Dennis Zemcik of Owosso and Ronald (Kathy) Zemcik of Middleton; grandchildren Aaron and Adeline Zemcik; brothers Stephen Zemcik and Richard (Sandy) Zemcik both of Owosso; sister Janet (Jeff) Hoose of Owosso; several nieces and nephews and other loving family members.
He was predeceased by his parents and sisters Rosemary and Mary Ann.
