MONAHAN, Sharon L. – of Burton, age 71, our strong and giving mother passed away October 29, 2015 at University of Michigan Medical Center – Ann Arbor. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Monday, November 2, 2015 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Glenn Teal officiating. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
Sharon was born in Flint, MI on November 12, 1943, daughter of the late L.J. and Jane (Gee) Malzahn. She married David P. Monahan, Sr. on November 24, 1962 and he preceded her in death on April 22, 1987. Sharon was easy going and loved to read, shop, play dice games and taking gambling trips. She also belonged to the Burton Senior Center.
Sharon is survived by her children, David (Natalie) Monahan, Jr., Diane (Dale) Mingee and Rich (Krista) Monahan; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; sister, Carol (Steve) Spangler; brother, John (Ruth) Malzahn; several nieces and nephews.
