SMITH, Earl Lee, Sr. – Of Flushing, age 80, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at his home.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 26, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Joseph Peera officiating.
Burial in Assyrian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Assyrian Cemetery.
Visitation 2-8 p.m. Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Earl was born in Chapin, Illinois on June 12, 1932, the son of John and Ferne (Bobbitt) Smith and was a resident of Flushing and Flint.
He was a member of the Eastern Assyrian Church since September 2, 1950.
He was Past President and volunteer; longtime member at Church of the East and RSVP of Whiting Auditorium in Flint.
Mr. Smith was employed for 42 years at General Motors Metal Fab in Grand Blanc.
Surviving are wife, Anna Smith;
children, Terry (Roderick “Rocky”) Ramon,
Earl Smith, Jr.,
Scott (Connie) Smith,
Tim Smith,
Leslie Braun and
Joel (Leslie Marlene) Smith;
grandkids, Ryan and Kyle Braun,
Jacob, Jordan, Jared Smith,
Christopher (Rebecca) Hunt, Kendall and Delaney Smith;
brother, David Lantz (Sherry) Smith.
He was preceded in death by father and mother John and Ferne (Trixy) Smith (Bobbitt); LaFern Arlene Clements, Donald, John Jr. and Jim D. Smith.
