HAYES, Betty M. - Of Flint, age 84, died Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Suncrest Nursing Home.
Funeral service will be held 6:30pm Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Cremation will take place following the service.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Suncrest Auxiliary Nursing Home in Lapeer.
Visitation 4pm Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Betty was born in Flint on May 5, 1932, the daughter of the late Harry and Evelyn (Curnow) Staple. On September 12, 1953, Betty married Max L. Hayes and he preceded her in death on March 5, 2015. Betty enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and The Eastern Star.
Surviving are children, Bruce Hayes, Gary and wife Millie Hayes, John and wife Jodie Hayes, Beth and husband Dave Marshke;
14 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and one on the way;
Brother, Bill and wife Sharon Staple.
Betty was also preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Susan Hayes.
