GILLETTE, Marguerite L. (LaBombard) – of Flint, MI, age 95, passed away August 31, 2016 at her residence. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Fr. Roy Horning celebrant. Burial will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Marguerite will lie in state at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI, where the family will receive visitors from 3-8 PM Friday, September 2, 2016. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 PM Friday at the funeral home. The family will also receive visitors from 10-11 AM Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Holy Rosary Food Pantry.
Marguerite was born in Flint, MI on May 9, 1921, daughter of the late Louis and Mabel (Multhaupt)LaBombard. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Marguerite was a volunteer at Heart of Florida Hospital for many years and at Hurley Hospital in Flint. She was a 1940 graduate from St. Mary’s School in Flint.
Marguerite is survived by four daughters, Linda (Ken) (Knispel) Sprague of Dunnellon, FL, Sonja (Ken) Sies of Burton, MI, Mary (Barry) Brown of Flint, MI and Donna (Keith) Gordon of Harrisville, MI; two sons, Richard (Deanna) Knispel of Clio, MI and William (Lynn) Gillette of Barwick, GA; 125 grandchildren representing three generations; two sons-in-law, Larry Streeter of Flint, MI and Bill Bennett of Otisville, MI; many other loving family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by husband, Arba “Red” Gillette; son, Anthony “Tony” Gillette; two daughters, Beverly Streeter and Beth Bennett; six grandchildren, Ricky, Kerrie and Jaleen Knispel, Sherry Richert, Jeff Filek and Tristan Jacob; four brothers and two sisters.
