STEWART, Douglas E. - Of Grand Blanc, age 73, died Wednesday, November 1, 2017 at his residence.
Funeral service will be celebrated 12 Noon Saturday, November 4, 2017 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
Visitation 4-8pm Friday and 11am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Douglas was born in on May 1, 1944, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, the son of William (Red) and Pauline Stewart. He graduated from Flint Northern High School, Class of 1962. Douglas worked as a Supervisor at Buick for 40 years. On October 23, 1965, he married Janice L. Suszek and they were married for 52 years. Douglas was an avid Michigan State Spartans and Detroit Lions fan. He loved spending time with his grandkids and loved watching them play sports.
Surviving are wife, Janice;
daughters, Angela (Steven) Jordan, Amy (Kurt) Alanko and Alisa Craig;
grandchildren, Zachary and Derek Jordan, Jenna Alanko and Andrew and Annabelle Morningstar;
brother, Doyle (Lori) Edwards;
sisters-in-law, Juvata Edwards, Kay (Gary) Durham, Debi (Doug) Casabon;
brother-in-law, Paul (Deborah) Suszek;
and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Don Edwards.
