PETERS, Charles H. Sr., - of Millington, age 77, died Wednesday, February 20, 2019 at his residence with family by his side. Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday, February 22, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial in Millington Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 11AM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Old Newsboys of Flint.
Charles was born October 27, 1941 in Flint, Michigan to the late Lawrence R. and M. Grace (St. Peter) Peters. He attended Flint Northern High School and later Mott Community College. Charles married Barbara J. Hyde on July 29, 1961. Together they enjoyed 57 years of marriage. Mr. Peters retired from General Motors V8 Engine in 1998 with over 35 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #659. He enjoyed all types of racing, stock car, motorcycle, motocross, and working on anything with an engine. Charles also enjoyed horses, farming, and being a clown for the Outcast Saddle Club of Millington. Above all, he was an honest, giving man that loved taking care of everyone, spending time with his family, and hunting with his brother.
Surviving are: Wife, Barbara J. Peters; Daughters: Angel (Matt) Peters-Maritz, Laura (Mark) Peters-Stillman, and Nancy (Roy) Bass; 6 grandchildren: Joshua Peters; Jonathan Peters, Taylor Peters, Makenzie Payne, Evan Maritz, and Zoe Maritz; Brother, Gary (Geri) Peters; Sisters: Diana Brady; Donna (Gary) Duranseau, and Jeanette (Dan) Smith; Many other loving family members and dear friends. Charles was also preceded in death by his son, Charles Peters Jr.; Grandsons: Tyler James Peters, and Andrew Henry Peters-Maritz; Sisters: Beverly Grace D’Itri, and Barbara Kirkland; Brothers: Lawrence Russell Peters Jr., and Darald Lee Peters; Brothers in law, Louie D’Itri, and Jim Kirkland.
