Wava Rust
Age 92 of Owosso passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2025 peacefully surrounded by her loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at Nelson-House Funeral Home with Pastor Kenneth Herbruck officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 2pm to 8pm.
Wava was born September 18, 1932 in Elsie, the daughter of Elbert and Neva (Janes) Stilson.
She graduated from Owosso High School in the class of 1951.
Wava enjoyed playing board games and card games such as Wahoo. With her husband they traveled and spent time at the lake house and square dancing. Wava took pride in tending to her yard and flowers up until the young age of 91. Most of all she cherished the time spent with her family.
She married Robert Rust in Angola, Indiana on March 26, 1951. He predeceased her on September 21, 2010.
Wava worked at H&R Block for over 20 years as a Tax Preparer.
Wava is survived by her children, Jim (Rosie) Rust, Jackie (Al) Custer, and Jerry Rust; grandchildren, Angela (Mark) Wiley, Jason Custer, Marli (Brian) Oliver, Jennifer (Jared) Yaple, Christina (Tim) Norder, JimBob (Joanna) Rust, and Jeremy Rust; several great-grandchildren; sister, Maxine (Leon) Wykes along with many other loving family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Rust, son, Rodney E. Rust, parents, Elbert and Neva Stilson, 2 brothers, 2 sisters.
