Esther Louise Telford, 90, of Durand, passed away June 4th, 2019.
Esther was born in Lennon October 31, 1928 to Harry and Agnes Long of Lennon. She graduated from Owosso High School class of 1946. In 1953 she married Emory F.Telford. They resided on Vernon Rd in Durand where they raised their 4 children. Esther worked as a bookkeeper for Jerrl Home Center as well as Telford Construction.
Esther's greatest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved family camping weekends and spending time with the grand kids at the lake. She always had a bag of homemade cookies in hand and loved giving them to friends and neighbors. Esther volunteered for many years at Loaves and Fishes food pantry at the Vernon United Methodist Church. She also attended church there for over 60 years. She enjoyed playing bingo at the senior center and loved her euchre girlfriends.
Esther is preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years Emory F. Telford; her brothers and sister: Merle (John) Haist, Clark (Laura) Long, and Fred (Teresa) Long.
Esther is survived by: her children Tom (Gina) Telford of Bancroft, Kirk (Leslie) Telford of Bancroft, Judy (Dan) Ching of Owosso, and Janet (Richard) Kasowski of Bancroft; grandchildren Ben (Terra), Steve (Emily), Ivy, Eric, Phillip (Markie), Jared (Brooke), and Luke Telford, Derek and Austin Ching, and Christopher Kasowski; great grandchildren Madison, Myah, and Grace Telford.
Visitation will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Home, Durand Chapel on Thursday June 6, 2019 from 3:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral service will be held at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes on Friday, June 7, 2019 at 11:00 a.m with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial to follow at Vernon Cemetery.
