WEAVER, Eleanor – of Clio, age 88, passed away June 19, 2018 at Angel Manor in Clio, MI. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Friday, June 22, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Mark Thompson officiating. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 PM Thursday and 11 AM until time of service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.
Eleanor was born in Redland, CA on May 27, 1930 daughter of John and Cora (Braaksma) Dykstra. She married Douglas A. Weaver on August 9, 1950 in Flint. Eleanor taught knitting, did needlepoint and was a great baker. She retired to Long Lake in Hale, MI, where she learned and became an avid artist. Eleanor enjoyed playing cards with her husband and friends. She loved the sunsets in Hawaii, camping with her family and enjoyed many other travels.
Eleanor is survived by her daughter, Susan (Ken) Malcolm; grandchildren, Greg (Leah) Malcolm, Kevin (Jessica) Malcolm, Dan Thompson (Krissy Parks), Kimberly (Wayne) Gonyea and Jennifer (Jim) DePottey; son-in-law, Ken Thompson; daughter-in-law, Janelle Weaver; sister-in-law, Bernie Dykstra; great-grandchildren, Chase, Gavin, Jameson, Brayden, Annabell, Caitlin, Kinsley and Dylnn. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Thompson; son, Douglas Weaver and brother, John Dykstra.
