POWERS, Jerome J. “Jerry” - of Clio, age 80, Died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11AM Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Ken Coughlin officiating. Burial in West Vienna Cemetery. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday from 11AM-2PM and 4-8PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10AM until the time of Mass. Contributions may be made to Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church.
Jerry was born February 8, 1935 in Flint, MI to the late William and Agnes. He married Betty Kaupp on May 2, 1953 in Flint. Mr. Powers retired from AC with 35 years. Jerry was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church and a member of Antique Car Clubs. He loved restoring antique cars and collecting antique car, gas tank and sign memorabilia. Jerry was charismatic and had a great sense of humor.
Surviving are: Wife, Betty Powers of Clio; Children: SueAnn (Randy) Tatro of Grand Blanc, Sandra (Warren) Leslie of Cary, NC, Michael Powers of Conroe, TX, Lisa (Bronlow) Miller of Mayville and Donna (Stephen) Gilling of Metamora; 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; Sister, Carmelita Tafoya-Jones; Brother, Gordon Powers.
