GILLIE, Janet Elaine - Of Burton, age 84, died Thursday, August 27, 2015 at Clare Bridge of Grand Blanc.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home.
Janet was born in Flint, Michigan on September 30, 1930 , the daughter of John and Anna (Waldron) Rice, and was a life long resident of the Flint area. She married William J. Gillie on April 19, 1948. She was a Grand Master Bridge player. Janet was an elementary school and music teacher and long time real estate investor in the Flint area.
Surviving are her sons, Dave(Cindy) Gillie and Roger (Marlene) Gillie;
daughter, Carol Gillie;
10 grandchildren, Terri, Leslie, J.J., Marco, Courtney, Allison, Merrit, Aaron, Adam and Kyle;
8 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Gillie; daugther, Linda Phillips; infant daughter, Karen; infant grandson, Glen Gillie; and her parents.
