Stephen Glenn Fisher, 76, of Owosso, passed away Saturday, March 22nd, 2014 at his residence. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1 PM on Tuesday, March 25th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 915 East Oliver Street with Fr. David E. Fisher as celebrant. Cremation will follow the service with final rest at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation at Mowen Funeral Home on Monday from 3 PM to 8 PM, with the Parish Rosary at 6 PM.
Stephen was born in Hastings, Michigan on December 8, 1937, the son of the late Glenn and Anne (Michelin) Fisher. He graduated from Cheboygan Catholic High School. He married Joyce S. Morse at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cheboygan on May 9, 1959, celebrating nearly 55 years of marriage. Stephen worked for General Motors in production at Buick Motors in Flint. He retired in 1999 after 34 years of service. Stephen loved all sports and enjoyed March Madness to the end. He went to his grandchildrens sporting events and every dance recital in Chicago. He played Senior Circuit softball in Chesaning for 15 years and he was the designated runner for the "older" guys.
Those who cherish his memory include: wife, Joyce; daughters, Lisa (Glen) Merkel and Robin Fisher; grandchildren, Alex, Blake and Cole Vallie, Jade Fisher, Blake, Cole and Tyler Merkel; great-grandson, Kyan Merkel; sisters, Carol Jevince of Florida and Nancy Day of Indiana; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Thomas.
Memorials are suggested to the Shiawassee County Humane Society.
