GARNER, Anastasia – of Clio, age 95, passed away May 24, 2017 at Cranberry Park – Clio. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Saturday, May 27, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Nate Jeffords officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Clio. Visitation will be 11:30 AM until time of service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Medical Team Hospice.
Anastasia was born in Saco, Maine on October 17, 1921, daughter of the late Charles and Demetra (Karanzalis) Kapernaros. She married Glen Lee Garner on October 14, 1945 in Lowell, MA. Anastasia was a member of Bethany Methodist Church, Youth MYF Leaders, Women’s Ministry Group and she volunteered at the Clio Senior Center. Anastasia put her children first. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and was a great cook and baker, especially her Greek dishes and apple pies. She was always the best dressed lady in the room.
Anastasia is survived by her husband Glen Lee; children, Leane (Paul) Blake, Glen Charles (Laurie) Garner, Bruce (Sharon) Garner and Lisa (Don) Belanger; 10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
