PAYNE, Thelma L. – of Burton, age 95, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2019 at MediLodge of Grand Blanc. A Funeral Service will be 2 PM, Wednesday, June 19, 2019 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. Burial will be in Crestwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12-2 PM prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Diabetes Association in Thelma’s name.
Thelma was born in Bernie, MO on July 15, 1923, daughter of the late Charles and Lossie (Higgenbottom) Grimes. She married Norman Payne, and he preceded her in death in 2001. Thelma was a member of the Davison “41” Club. She was an avid Avon lady, and enjoyed bowling for many years.
Thelma is survived by her son, Ronald (Donna) Payne; grandchildren, Sherry (Brian) Slater, Tracy (Carla) Payne; great-grandchildren, Kelly (Jason) Hazel, Brad Bland, Andrew Payne, Ashley Payne; great-great-grandchildren, Abbie Payne, Matthew Hazel, Haisly Lovett; sister, Marge Johnson; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Bill Grimes; sister, Melba Chemo.
