Elasivich, Peter Elias of Flushing, age 85, died Sunday, March 13, 2016, at McLaren-Flint. Office of Christian Burial/Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, March 17, 2016, at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church. Fr. David Hannes will officiate. Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 1-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rossell Funeral Home, Flushing, Michigan and 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of the funeral service. A Panachida (Wake) Service will be held 5 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church.
Peter was born in Flushing, Michigan, on April 10, 1930, the son of Andrew and Anna (Adamo) Elasivich. He married Leona Mandrick at St. Michael Byzantine Catholic Church of Flint on May 4, 1963. Peter farmed his entire life and retired from Buick after 25 years as a Machine Operator. He enjoyed polka dancing, going to the casino, and ice fishing. Peter was a member of the UAW Local 599.
Peter is survived by his wife, Leona; children, Andy, Deborah (Jeff) Morgan, Teresa (Steve) Phillips, Ron (Melinda); grandchildren, Alex, Devin, Karsyn, Jake; sisters, Helen Skarbek, Pauline (Don) Kaushbak; brother, John Elasivich; extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mike Elasivich, Mary Adams, Joe Elasivich, Julia Delecki, and Margaret Conner. |
