BREHAUT, Janet Marie – of Burt, age 61 passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, September 23, 2017 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home, Birch Run Chapel. Rev. Michael Houle officiating. Burial in Cook Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Friday from 2:30 until 8:00 PM and Saturday from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM. Memorial contributions can be made to the American Diabetes Association or Birch Run Schools.
Janet was born November 12, 1955 in Flint, Michigan to Douglas and Phyllis (Keller) Sheppard. She graduated from Birch Run High School with the class of 1973. She has resided in Birch Run all her life. Janet married Gerald R. Brehaut on May 22, 1982 in Frankenmuth, Michigan. She worked for Birch Run Area Schools for 28 years as a Food Service Coordinator. Janet also worked at the Bavarian Inn for several years as well. She enjoyed riding on the pontoon, spending time with her family and her dog Bailey.
Surviving are: Husband of 35 years Gerald; Children Becky (Chris) Walther, Ashley Brehaut; Parents: Douglas and Phyllis Sheppard; Brothers: Virgil (Lisa) Sheppard, Jim Sheppard, David (Wendy) Sheppard; Sisters: Clara Starkel, Linda (Barry) Engle, Charlotte (Rodney) Payne, and several nieces and nephews.
