RAY, Ronald S. - of Montrose, age 75, died on Friday, August 30, 2019 at his residence with family by his side. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. No services are scheduled. Memorial contributions may be made to The Fallen Outdoors.
Ron was born September 13, 1943 in Parma, Missouri to the late Siebert and Thelma (Whiteaker) Ray. He graduated from Beecher High School in 1961 and attended Mott Community College. Ron married Gloria on April 13, 1995 in Flint. Mr. Ray is a U.S. Army Vietnam Veteran, he proudly served 18 years, some of those being in the reserves serving the different branches. Ron retired as a millwright from General Motors - Flint V8 Engine in 1999 with 36 years seniority. He was a member of Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Montrose. Ron enjoyed hunting, fishing, target shooting, and walking his fur babies. He also enjoyed pulling out trees and digging holes with his Kubota Tractor and backhoe. Above all, Ron loved his family.
Surviving are: Loving wife, Gloria Ray; Daughters: Jayme (Mark) Johnson, Colleen (Scott) Simmons, Sergeant Rodney (Ronna) Ray; Stepchildren: Christine (Angela) Jackson, and Randy (Annette) Jacobi; Grandchildren: FC1LPO Kora L. Bunch, Jonathon (Holly) Bunch, Staff Sergeant DJ Simmons, Brandon Simmons, and Zachary Ray; Step grandchildren: Kira Nevius, Jarrod Nevius, and Courtney Nevius; Great grandchildren: Chase Bunch, Teagan Bunch, Harper Jo Bunch, Violet Rose McFarlan, and one on the way; Special friends: Darcy Thompson, Leo Brown, and Ray Nerretar; Many other loving family members and dear friends.
