JONES, Chester – Of Swartz Creek, age 81, died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Caretel Inns of Linden.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to FFA of Durand or American Rental Association Foundation.
Visitation 1-8 pm. Friday, March 11, 2016 and 10 a.m. Saturday, March 12,2016 until the time of the service.
Chester was born in Caruth, Missouri on November 3, 1934, the son of the late Forest and Ruth (Dublin) Jones.
On May 17, 1958 he married Doris Gilman and she preceded him in death on May 7, 2008.
Chester was the General Manager of Allied Rent-All. He was a charter member of the Linden Lions Club and also farmed for numerous years in the Swartz Creek area.
Surviving are daughter, Laura and husband Richard Spence;
two sons, Bruce and wife Sue Jones,
Larry and wife Marlene Jones;
three granddaughters, Cassandra and husband Shawn Maynard,
Candace and husband Sgt. Bradley Aldrich and
Taylor Jones;
two great-grandchildren, Alara Maynard and Tristan Aldrich;
sister, Eva and husband Charlie VanGennip and brother, Harold and wife Shaaron Jones;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by brothers, J.T., L.D., Franklin and Ernest; sisters, Fredia, Louise and Margaret.
