Albert, Connie C. “Butch” of Flushing, age 91, died Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Medilodge of Montrose. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, November 3, 2016, at Flushing Presbyterian Church. Rev. Teresa Peterson will officiate. Cremation will follow the funeral services. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Rossell Funeral Home and 10 a.m. Thursday at the church until the time of the service. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Lac Courte Oreilles Chippeaw Reservation in Hayward, Wisconsin.
Butch was born in Hayward, Wisconsin on March 5, 1925, the son of Monte and Frances (Wetenhall) Albert. He married Constance “Connie” Boyd in St. Louis, Michigan on July 15, 1950. She preceded him in death on August 28, 2009. Butch graduated from Flint Central High School and later attended Central Michigan University. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Butch worked for AC Spark Plug, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Flushing Presbyterian Church. Together with his wife, they loved traveling around the world and were avid canoeist. Butch enjoyed creating stained glass pieces of art and giving it to his family and friends.
He is survived by his son, David and wife Cheryl Albert of North Carolina; grandchildren, Julie and husband Brian Bopp, Jennifer and husband Bryan Bishop, Jamie and wife Christie Hawkins; great-grandchildren, Alex, Carson, Kaleigh, McKenzie, Davis, Emma; and siblings, Delores, Vern, and Clayton. Butch was also preceded in death by his sister, Juanita and brothers, Buck and Bert. |
