KNOBLOCK, Joy Joan (Scofield) - Of Flint, age 82, died Sunday, December 30, 2018 at Swank Home Assisted Living.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30am Friday, January 4, 2019 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint,
Father Anthony Strouse officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Visitation 12-9pm Thursday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Rosary will be prayed 7pm Thursday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10:30am Friday at the church until the time of the Mass.
Joy was born in Flint on August 21, 1936, the daughter of Sidney and Jean (Brank) Scofield. Following her graduation from Flint Northern High School, in her early years, Joy worked for the Genesee County Court House. She married Robert Knoblock on October 12, 1963. Joy was a devoted wife and mother. Later in life she began working for John Cislo of Cislo Title Co., where she developed many wonderful memories and a second family of cherished friends until her retirement. She enjoyed her summers on Cedar Lake and spending her time with her 7 grandchildren. Joy never missed a sporting event, piano recital, graduation or Christmas show. Joy was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Surviving are daughters, Kelly Herzog and Kathy (Dan) Brcic;
son, Michael Knoblock;
grandchildren, Morgan, Michael, Mitchell, Erin, Luke, Kate, and Alexanndra;
brother, Robert (Doris) Scofield;
sister-in-law, Dagmar Tahash;
and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert G. Knoblock, parents, niece, Kim Fonger, brother-in-law, William Tahash and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Edsel and Maryanne Shively.
